It’s impossible to think about an happy science without be sure of the fundamental sanity of the human being, without the tragic fate of the time driving all the things to their end, without to gauge the life like an uncertain action opposing to the defeat’s certainty, without the optimism considering eternal the ephemeral and temporary the permanent. What is it for the Culture? To put right the human imperfection, to make emerge the humankind from his wild state, to fix an harmony in the dissonances, to give a sterile hope to the Gulliver’s yahoo or a brilliant metamorphosis to Pinocchio the puppet… Actually the two years of Happy S.C.I.E.N.C.E. directed us in opposite way: the Culture like opposite to the Ignorance (Ignorance of the Differences) and to the Conformism (Conformism of the narrow-hearts before than narrow-mindedness). But, established the principle of the fundamental sanity of the human being, to whom assign the role of the Ignorant and Conformist? The transfer season is open, Happy S.C.I.E.N.C.E. stays out of it following the Gandhi’s suggestion: “Be the change you want to see in the world.” by Massimo Presciutti

Stanisław Jerzy Lec
Stanisław Jerzy Lec (6 March 1909 – 7 May 1966) (born Baron Stanisław Jerzy de Tusch-Letz) was a poet and aphorist of Polish and Jewish noble origin. Often mentioned among the greatest writers of post-WW2 Poland, he was one of the most influential aphorists on the 20th century, known for lyrical poetry and sceptical philosophical-moral aphorisms, often with a political subtext.
